Baptismal and birthday cakes

Here are the cakes I have completed the past weekend:

Baptismal cake for my new Goddaughter, Nathalie Reese. A 2-tier chocolate mud cake (6″+9″) with pink fondant baby shoes in a quilted mat as the cake topper. The color theme was pink, yellow and blue. Thanks to the contributor of the baby shoe/bootie pattern/template from Cake Central. Added decor were flowers and baby blocks.

When I was preparing the cake, my flatmates doesn’t want me to throw away the scraps from the cake. So Marix made it into cake pops! An added attraction in the dessert table 🙂

Birthday cake requested by our Choir conductress for her daughter’s 3rd birthday. Jo seems to be not a fan of fondant because she specifically requested only for a chocolate coated cake. I baked this 10-inch round chocolate mud cake frosted with ganache. Her daughter wants sea creatures on her cake. The top decor was on a 6-inch cake board covered with fondant and topped with the cute toys that Jo provided (3 turtles wearing goggles.. cuteness!). I just added the fondnat dolphin, whale, crabs and small fishes.

What a tiring and busy weekened! But was worth it when I saw how happy the recipients were! Awesome!
