On Christmas eve, instead of preparing some Christmas cakes and frost them, I have made my own version of TRIFLE! 🙂 A trifle is dessert with multiple layers of colors, textures and flavors. I’ve been wanting to do a Trifle and the opportunity came. I still made the cupcakes which I used for the trifle but cut in half and placed in a cup 🙂 Basically, it’s chocolate cupcake with butter pound cake then filled with chocolate ganache, cream cheese frosting and strawberry jam.
The layers are (from bottom to top): half chocolate cupcake + ganache + creamcheese + strawberryjam + butterpoundcake + ganache + creamcheese + strawberryjam + half chocolate cupcake. The flavors just blended nicely! 🙂
